On April 26–27, Lobster Weight proudly sponsored the German Indoor Freediving Championship 2025 in Leipzig, in partnership with @freedive_konstanz. Over 40 athletes competed, delivering an impressive 133 performances across four pool disciplines, setting a new participation record for the event.
The standout performance came from Heike Schwerdtner, who achieved an incredible 9:17 breath-hold in static apnea, breaking her own freedive world record from 2024. While this achievement couldn’t be officially recognized as a world record due to the lack of international judges, it now stands as a German national record that surpasses the current global women’s record. A truly remarkable feat in the world of freediving records!
